Motorcyclist Ross Biondo was crushed and broken in a hit-and-run accident, and doctors at a (local) County hospital knew they couldn't perform the sophisticated surgery he needed.

As Biondo was helicoptered out, he told the pilot to take him to the best available hospital.

"The pilot said, 'OK, Receiving,' " recalls Biondo.
